When I moved to Bradley University for the first time, one of the many experiences I enjoyed was being involved with the cast of "Ragtime", a musical that tells the lives Coalhouse Walker Jr., a Harlem musician; Mother, the matriarch of a WASP family in New Rochelle, NY; and Tateh, a Latvian Jewish immigrant.
Set in the early 1900s, three groups are equally conflicted against each other - the high class New Rochellians, the Harlem African Americans, and the Immigrants. Historical figures such as Harry Houdini, Evelyn Nesbit, Booker T. Washington, J. P. Morgan, Henry Ford, Stanford White, and Emma Goldman also appear - and I portrayed HOUDINI!!!
